Dan Olsen is a Calgary based photographer, filmmaker, and educator. An alumni of SAIT’s film and video production program, he is a proud Albertan, and no matter how far he roams, always finds himself back on the prairies. Dabbling in glitch games, motion-stills, pixel-sorting, and data-bending, Dan’s work often explores the world at its edges – the aesthetics of failure and the beauty of chaos – while tackling themes of depression, anxiety, and identity. Dan also runs the popular web series Folding Ideas, an edutainment show introducing audiences to narrative and communications theories using examples from pop culture, real life, and current events.
